Spirometry training reaches over 70 staff
The Federation has been supporting local practices in the uptake of accredited spirometry training with over 70 healthcare staff having completed or due to undertake training soon. This will have a direct positive impact on patients.
Spirometry is a simple test used to help diagnose and monitor certain lung conditions by measuring how much air you can breath out in one forced breath. It can be carried out during a visit to hospital but with more trained staff in the community, you should not need to visit hospital and receive your care closer to home.
Your GP will advise you if spirometry testing is required.
